Program areas at Concerned Citizens for Animal Welfare of Volusia County
Spayed and neutered over 4000 dogs & cats in 2018 throughout Volusia County through our low cost spay/neuter program and our municipal funded trap/neuter/return(TNR)program for cats.Held over 36 low cost pet shot clinics that provide low cost vaccinations for pet owners who cannot afford to have their pets vaccinated against such diseases as rabies, distemper and kennel cough. We also provide low cost testing for heartworm in dogs and for feline leukemia in cats and preventative products at low cost at our low cost shot clinics.Provided funding for pet owners whose pets had life threatening emergencies and who could not afford veterinary services.Provided and funded TNR (trap/neuter/return) services to cat caregivers in municipalities in Volusia County that have not adopted a TNR program.Fostered and found homes for over 500 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens in 2018.Established, administered and/or served as advisors for TNR(Trap/Neuter/Return) programs for the City of Port Orange, FL; the City of Edgewater, FL; the City of Holly Hill, FL; the City of New Smyrna Beach, FL; the City of Daytona Beach, FL; the City of Deltona, FL; the City of South Daytona, FL; the City of Ormond Beach, FL; the City of Debary, FL; the City of Orange City, FL; and Unincorporated Volusia County, FL that resulted in a 4000 reduction of cat intake and euthanasia at our local animal shelters.Provided information and/or held meetings for a countywide TNR program in the cities of Ormond Beach, FL; Deltona, FL; Debary, FL; Deland, FL; Orange City, FL; Daytona Beach, FL; and South Daytona, FL.CCFAW has finally accomplished our goal with all municipalities in Volusia County, Florida having established a Trap/Neuter/Return and return to field program. CCFAW will continue to work with all municipalities in Voluisa County, FL to make sure all animal programs are working properly for the welfare of animals.
