Description
Compassion & Choices of Washington (C&C) provides advocacy, counseling, and emotional support to qualified individuals who desire a peaceful, humane death. Through education, advance planning, consultation with caregivers, case management services, and patient advocacy and empowerment, C&C upholds patients' rights to excellent end-of-life care, effective pain and symptom management, and, for terminally ill, competent adults, aid in dying to avoid intolerable suffering. Compassion & Choices of Washington is a proud supporter of the new initiative to legalize aid in dying in Washington State.

Program areas at Compassion and Choices

Promote awareness and education relating to end-of-life Choices through our website, quarterly magazine, conventions/conferences, pamphlets and brochures, books and videos, and by speaking at public events and writing articles.
Operate a nationwide program helping our constituents ensure that their advance healthcare directives are followed and that their pain is adequatley treated.
Advocacy for individuals through creative, legal and legislative initiatives to secure comprehensive and compassionate options at the end of life. We set national standards for end-of-life care and assert constitutional protection for aid in dying.
