Early learning resource center (elrc) administers the child care works and keystone stars programs:ccc administers this department of human services funded program to (a) assist low income families living in adams, cumberland, dauphin, lancaster, lebanon, perry and york counties with the cost of childcare and (b) assist families, regardless of income, in understanding Pennsylvania's early education system and in locating and evaluating appropriate early childhood education and school age child care programs for their Children and (c) implement keystone stars by providing information, coaching, mentoring, and workshops, assist with the self-study process, and designating providers with a star level by determining they have met the standards. (d) administer grant funds.at the close of the fiscal year, services included:1. 9,603 Children for child care works funding2. 6,092 families participate in ccw3. 811 of providers participating in ccw4. 4320 families asked for childcare referrals5. 4,999 calls to the childcare works helpline6. 926 keystone stars providers7. 105 providers moved up one or more star levels8. 57 new star 1 providers9. 200 professional development, workgroups and communities of practice with 4,001 educators participating.
Every child has opportunitites (echo)the organization has a new privately funded initiative to promote innovative strategies to increase capacity and quality in york county. The goal of echo is to double the number of Children from low-income families in york county who will receive high-quality early childhood education.
Child and adult care food program (cacfp)ccc provides partial reimbursement to family home based and center childcare providers for nutritious meals and snacks served to Children in their care through this pa department of education funded program. The program also provides nutrition education, technical assistance and training to participating childcare providers. Serving 63 home based family providers and 12 centers in 21 counties. Conducted 225 monitoring visits.
Child care recruitment and support servicesccc promotes the professional development of home-based family child care providers through training, technical assistance and support. Ccc recruits new home-based family providers.37 participated in trainings16 became dhs certified home based providers520 individuals served
Parents as teachershome based parent-child visiting program to assist families in preparing their Children for school and addressing developmental needs. Grant funded by the pa Children's trust fund and the pa family support grant. Additional funds secured through private donations. Served 37 families and conducted 392 visits.
