Program areas at Community Coalition

State of Florida office of the attorney general: this contract runs from july 1 through june 30 of the following year. This program provides high school students age 15-21 which are at risk of dropping out of school or being involved in criminal or gang related activities. All referrals of participants are through participant's school staff. Case managers will then screen and assess all new participants to make sure they qualify for our program. 13 hours of employability and life skills training were provided to all participants. Some of the trainings provided are career exploration, the importance of staying in school, being crime free, paid work experience (internships) and direct placement in part time positions.in year 2022 which included two contract years (january through june of contract 2021-2022 and july through december of 2022-2023 contract year), we enrolled 376 youths. 376 completed their 13 hours of training; 297 youth completed 60 hours of paid work experience; 38 youth were employed part time (direct placements); 42 bus passes were provided and 376 participants were crime free and stayed in school.
The wise kidz: after school and summer camp program runs from august 1 through july 31. We provide afterschool care and summer camp for elementary students (kindergarten through fifth grade.) We provide our services at jose marti mast academy. Students come to our afterschool program via private buses arranged by parents/guardians. We enrolled 88 students in 2022. We provided them with free snacks, homework assistance, literacy activities, physical fitness, social and emotional wellness and stem activities. There is no charge to the parents/guardians for our afterschool and summer programs. Wise kids after school and summer camp: this program is through the children's trust. We provide afterschool care for kindergarten through fifth grade from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm. We also provide all day care on teacher's workdays. We provide afterschool care and summer camp services for low-income families from elementary schools near jose marti mast academy which is located in hialeah, Florida.
Wioa out of school program: this contract runs from july 1 through june 30 of the following year. The program targets youth between the ages of 16 and 24 facing educational and employment barriers. It increases the focus on disadvantage youth falling in one or more of the following categories: homeless, runaway, foster child, disabled, english language learner, offender, pregnant or parenting, basic skills deficient, or any other individual requiring additional assistance to complete an educational program or to secure and hold employment. The osy program offers a wide range of services focused in preparing unemployed, underemployed and under skilled youth to meet today's labor market demands by balancing an industry based specific training program with a work-based learning environment. In year 2022, which includes two contract years (2021-2022) and (2022-2023) we served 598 youth; and provided 87 bus passes; 54 participants received incentives of $75.00 or $100.00 for obtaining a credential or a goal under the program guidelines; 82 participants completed their paid work experience; and 10 completed their 20 hours of training, which is part of paid work experience.
