Program areas at Columbia Play Project

Columbia Play Project hosted signature program services and events including the Mobile Children's Museum, Wiggles and Giggles (an educational entertainment series), Family Play Day, Grandparents Play Day and Bricktastic!. In 2023, CPP served approximately 17,888 children and their caregivers. Columbia Play also hired their first employees who are Playologists. Mobile Children's Museum brings a wide variety of toys and games following the STREAM theme (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Math) to local public and private spaces. Children and adults engage in exploratory play and experiment with toys without guidance or rules (safety requirements.). Wiggles and Giggles offers separate ticketed educational entertainment events, hosted at The Kiggins Theater. Guest entertainers included musicians and The Amazing Bubble Man. in 2023 the first Family Play Day was created at the waterfront where 2300 people experienced the joy of play while learning about child serving organizations in our community. Next, for Grandparents day there were 500 children and their grandparents at Champs at Marshall Park. Bricktastic is a brick-building showcase where children and adults were invited to create items with bricks and mini-figs and display them for the public. Prizes were given in each category.
