Description
Colorado Hosting Asylum Network provided charitable humanitarian relief to over 25 families seeking asylum in the United States. Our support included counseling resources, rent, food, clothing, legal assistance, cellphone service, and other basic living expenses. Our dedicated volunteer host teams worked tirelessly to provide aid. In addition, we participated in community events such as Out Boulder Cinco de Mayo and other educational opportunities to raise awareness of immigrant needs and challenges.

Program areas at Colorado Hosting Asylum Network

We supported 27 families including 95 individuals including children in 2023. We consider our asylum seekers to be our guests while they are seeking asylum in the United States. We accept guests via referral from attorneys and or agencies and initially place our guests in host homes until they are permitted to work legally in the United States. Each individual or family is supported by a team of volunteers who help our guests find services such as school transportation English classes and medical care. We also support our teams with professional consulting services. When our guests are able to work and support themselves we provide the initial rent deposits household needs and the like as they begin living independently and await their asylum court date. We believe the assistance provided by our volunteers and the funds spent on our guests is vital to their success.
