The Colorado Celebration of African American Arts & Culture dba Colorado Black Arts Festival CBAF celebrated 34 years of African American and African Diaspora heritage culture visual and performing arts. In accordance with the goals of our mission the festival offered visual arts and culture and hands-on educational arts and cultural activities to engage and appeal to our audience of all ages. The festival's Children's Pavilion offered age appropriate arts and cultural activities for three 3 days of the event. We offered African drum and dance classes for everyone. We had three 3 performing arts stages that presented music of all genres dance and spoken word. The CBAF was started from the vision of art lovers and overlooked African American visual and performing artists who wanted to present their works to the community at-large and the African Diaspora community in particular. The festival has been an arts and cultural staple of the community for many years. The festival presented the art work of over forty 40 fine and budding visual artists. It showcased the work of over 160 local and national performing artists. It attracts 100 marketplace vendors and social-civic organizations. The festival seeks to involve the community; 100+ people volunteered to ensure an outstanding event. The organization believes it helps instill pride of culture to over 30,000 that attended the three 3 day event. It is the only event of its kind in the State. The festival is not only attended by the Black community but Colorado residents at large who enjoy and appreciate African and African diaspora arts and culture.
