Program areas at CARE
Spay and Neuter - In 2022, C.A.R.E. helped fund 6,601 companion pet sterilizations (dogs and cat). Clinics are held in areas with high over-population. These areas generally rural, underserved with nearby or affordable vet care or on tribal lands. We work with other funders to support these clinics. Since C.A.R.E. started funding spay and neuter services in 2009, 41,509 animals have been fixed through December 2022. Clinics are held in Western United States.
Donations to Shelters, Rescues and Colony Cat Caregivers - Disbursements from this program go to struggling shelters and rescues to help them with their pet food and vet care needs. Many use the donations to purchase vaccines too. Donations are also made to assist with transport van repairs and other operating costs. Additionally, contributions to feral cat caregivers come out of this program to assist with the purchase of dry/wet cat food and necessary sheltering supplies for the cats.
Jakes Fund - C.A.R.E. helps sponsor veterinary care for animals in shelters and rescues to get them ready for adoption. C.A.R.E.s donations from the Jakes Fund program help defray the costs to rescues and shelters. In 2022, 701 animals were assisted with donations. Since this program started in 2008, 8,480 animals have been assisted with veterinary donations.
