The golf course is used in conjunction with the Clemson University turf grass research, golf course turf management, academic programs and internships for students in parks, recreation, and tourism management, turfgrass management, research stream flow management and dynamics, student life enhancement, field trips for Clemson students and is the permanent home for the Clemson pgm program. The course is also the host of turfgrass management field day. This golf course is innovative in that it is completely accessible to the handicapped.
The hotel is used to provide lodging and facilities for programs connected with Clemson University in conjunction with activities and programs held at the Clemson University madren center and Clemson University. The hotel provides Clemson University students with a real life learning environment focusing on the activities associated with hospitality management.
