Cchs maintains control over the operations and governance of Ohio valley medical center (ovmc). Ovmc is operated exclusively for charitable purposes and provides charity care consistent with 501(c)(3) status. Ovmc has expanded its service offerings, providing the community with greater overall access to highly trained and specialized physicians. Cchs, through ovmc, provides various education programs as part of its operations including its breast cancer treatment and screening center, which was awarded a gold seal of approval by the american college of radiology. Cchs plans to develop new education programs to address specific community needs that it identifies.
