Chrysalis House residential programs are accredited by carf and have received asam certification for levels of care 3.5 and 3.1. Community support services at Chrysalis community center are those that extend beyond residential treatment. The availability of these services helps ensure that treatment can be sustained in long-term recovery. Chrysalis House believes ongoing recovery and community support is essential for women with substance use disorders to make the changes necessary to adopt an alcohol- and drug-free lifestyle. Chrysalis House staff assist women develop recovery support networks, relapse prevention tools, and housing and community services. Participation in alcoholics anonymous, narcotics anonymous, al-anon, and other recovery support networks is a valuable resource for many recovering women. Relapse prevention and continuing care are recovery management services.community support services extending beyond treatment include the following:1. Family strengthening - recognizing the family disruption that is common to addiction, women, particularly those who are heads of their households, need services that support the reestablishment of important family ties, Chrysalis House offers family therapy and family support services.2. Transportation - Chrysalis House provides clients with transportation in business vans, bus passes, and gas cards to those clients in residential treatment. For long term community support, case managers provide them with assistance navigating public transportation systems.3. Employer support services - employers coordinate needed job support services with the Chrysalis House job readiness coordinator. Chrysalis House can bond women to put less risk on the employer should they hire a woman in recovery.4. Vocational and academic education services - critical to recovery success is the continuation of educational (for women and children) and vocational services that are begun during treatment at Chrysalis House. Chrysalis House offers each client employment and education opportunities including instruction for the general equivalency diploma (ged), job skills training, basic and advanced computer training and job placement assistance.5. Chrysalis House offers weekly family education day events where family members can get involved in understanding their roles in the family and how those roles may have become maladaptive coping strategies while the person served was in active addiction. The education days are also meant to provide basic education about substance misuse, drugs of abuse, and concepts of recovery.
