Program areas at Christus Mother Frances Hospital - Jacksonville
The Hospital's operating plan incorporates provisions for individuals who do not possess the ability to purchase essential medical services to receive services at the same level as any other patients without regard to their ability to pay. Our commitment to our community extends to free or subsidized individual care, subsidized education of healthcare professionals, discounted fees for participants in government programs, community health educations and to other community agencies. Specific community services and programs include: wellness and prevention education programs, community diagnostic screening programs, senior citizen health awareness programs, awareness of behavioral health needs and programs for youth and adults at risk and awareness programs for persons with special physical or mental needs, as well as food insecurity. Individuals served amount to 20,118 visits to our emergency departments, 58 inpatient surgery procedures, 1,208 outpatient surgery procedures, 718 patients who were admitted to our hospitals for care, and 56,659 patients who received outpatient care. As part of the educational focus area of thecurrent chna, providing educational training within the Hospital and clinics for students pursing programs in nursing, allied health, medical student rotation for rural health, and job shadowing for high school and college students at all levels. While on site. Associate preceptors include registered nurses, advance practice registered nurses, radiologic technologists and physicians. Gme programs are not included. Another key project that is supported by Mother Frances - Jacksonville is the multitude of not-for-profits who provide essential services to our communities we serve especially those in poverty and low income and others facing special needs and assistance. This past year key organizations such as kiwanis, tree of promise, boy scouts, the city leadership training programs to help members understand the role and challenges of the community and how health care is impacted in every neighborhood, and the food pantries. A key collaboration is the countywide jingle jog organized, implemented, and funded by Mother Frances Hospital - Jacksonville not only focuses on healthy habits for families but raises money for the rotary club locally and 100% of the funds allocated to the rotary go to other service organizations to address community needs.
