The Hospital operates a 225 licensed-bed pediatric Hospital, which includes 13 active surgical suites, two hybrid heart catheterization labs, an outpatient surgery Center including 4 surgical suites, and a fetal care Center that focuses on the coordination of care for babies diagnosed with complex congenital defects before birth. Children's has achieved the magnet designation for nursing excellence, and its pediatric and neonatal intensive care units have earned a beacon award for excellence from the american association of critical care nurses, which recognizes critical care units with excellent patient outcomes that exceed national benchmarks. The Hospital was recognized by u.s. news and world report in two specialties, including pulmonology & lung surgery and urology. Children's specialty pediatric Center offers more than 100 outpatient specialty and sub-specialty clinics, providing diagnostics, treatment, and therapy. In addition, the Hospital provides outpatient behavioral health and a full array of pediatric home healthcare services to children and adolescents who have immediate or long-term healthcare needs. The Hospital is home to the region's only level iv neonatal intensive care unit and the only dedicated pediatric emergency department with level ii pediatric trauma certification. The Hospital also provides specialty pediatric care services in communities across three states.
