Medical Care Provided to ChildrenCHLAMG provides specialty medical services at Children's Hospital Los Angeles in the subspecialties representing the Departments of Pediatrics, Surgery, Anesthesia/Critical Care Medicine, Radiology, and Pathology to the underserved pediatric population of Los Angeles and surrounding counties regardless of their ability to pay. The majority of patients served by CHLAMG are beneficiaries of Medi-Cal (and other state programs for the medically indigent) and most patients and families served live in areas demonstrated to be poor or medically underserved. CHLAMG provides services to the uninsured (and underserved) at rates significantly below its established fees.

Training Physicians and ResearchAs faculty members at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, CHLAMG physicians support medical education by training medical students, residents, and fellows. CHLAMG also sponsors lectures and continuing medical education conferences for community physicians and allied health professionals. CHLAMG physicians serve on national boards and professional associations. These activities create a broader group of highly trained individuals to serve and benefit the community and enhance the quality of healthcare. CHLAMG conducts basic, clinical and translational research that advances the quality and availability of health care services to patients and populations beyond its immediate reach.
