Program areas at Childrens Advocacy Center for North Texas
Childrens Advocacy Center for North Texas is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a 25-year history of collaborating on over 25,000 child abuse cases in Denton County. We added Wise County the largest county in Texas without its own childrens advocacy center to our service area in 2020 and expanded into Jack County in 2022. We and our 61 prosecutorial, investigative, and medical partners are the front-line responders to reports of child abuse in these three counties. We are the only non-profit in Denton County, Wise County, and Jack County that uses a coordinated, multi-disciplinary approach to address child abuse cases, providing education, healing, and justice to children, families, and our community. We have ensured stronger outcomes to child abuse victims in the North Texas region by offering six core services: Multidisciplinary Team Coordination, Forensic Interviews, Mental Health Services, Family Advocacy Services, Forensic Medical Exams, and Multidisciplinary Team Case Review. Together with our partner agencies we provide critical, no-cost victim services to child victims and their non-offending family member in English, Spanish, and other languages. We have an active volunteer board of directors committed to our mission financially and through strong advocacy. Our internal capacity for fiscal management supports a $5.8 million budget, secured through public/private funding from individuals, corporations, foundations, United Ways, and local, state, and federal public entities. We completed a $5 million capital campaign in 2018 and have managed several high-dollar grants from federal, state, local governmental agencies and through various private foundations. We are accredited by the National Childrens Alliance and by the Childrens Advocacy Center of Texas; we are a United Way Service Organization.
