Program areas at Child Care Council of Nassau
The nys office of children and family services contracts with the Child Care Council of Nassau to provide the following services: consumer education, Child Care referral services, technical assistance to develop and expand regulated programs, administration of health and safety and quality improvement grants to regulated and legally exempt providers, phone and intensive technical assistance to providers, serve as lead enrollment agency for legally exempt providers and health consultation.
Other programs are conducted throughout the year to facilitate the Child Care programs and provide expertise in Nassau county.
To act as a sponsor of day Care homes for administration of the nys Child and adult Care food program. In 2021-2022 the Child Care Council of Nassau administered an average of approximately 300 claims for enrolled day Care homes each month who provided meals to approximately 4,000 children throughout the county. All participating providers received three unannounced visits annually.
