Family day Care and school age Child Care registration services assist individuals in becoming registered day Care providers in order to increase the number of day Care slots in Dutchess and Putnam counties. As of december 2019, in Dutchess county there were 234 day Care providers with 8,903 slots in all types of Care. In Putnam county, there were 68 day Care providers with 3,203 slots in all types of Care.
The Child and adult Care food program supports day Care homes inproviding nutritious meals and snacks to the children in Care. In 2019, fifty-five home-based Child Care providers were enrolled in this program.
