Program areas at Chicano and Latino Youth Leadership Project

Sacramento Leadership conference:the annual Leadership conference brought together 77 sophomore and junior high school students to a week-long Leadership conference training, focusing on college, community and culture. Students attend powerful workshops and seminars that are intended to enhance Leadership skills, adademic preparedness, self-esteem and cultural awareness, and to provide an understanding of state and local government. In addition, 22 students attended the bay area institute, 20 the central California institute, and 38 the los angeles institute.
Fellowship and scholarships:a rigorous four-week comcast fellowship in the California state capitol is held annually exclusively for clylp alumni. The fellowship curriculum builds upon the training received at clylp high school Leadership programs and introduces college students to the inner workings of California government and statewide policy issues. The chairez scholarship program is a new program focused on supporting alumni attending graduate school
