Program areas at CEPVI
For this year, Cepvi impacted ninety-one (91) community people received information and referral and other services; one hundred thirty-two (132) consumers who received independent living services to improve their quality of life and be more integrated in their communities. Consumers and community people benefited from services such as peer counseling, information & referral, independent living skills, advocacy, transition, educational workshops, transportation service, assistive technology and mobility training. They also received guidance on aid programs agencies and services available in the community for persons with disabilities, among other services.during this year it was possible to begin to provide services in person, although with the appropriate prevention and security measures. Independent living skills classes were able to be provided in a hybrid way, both face-to-face and hybrid. Most of the meetings, trainings, activities and workshops of both silc and other organizations and entities are provided remotely, which is beneficial to make better use of time; for the inclusion and reasonable accommodation of people with disabilities and ensure greater and better participation.as the centers main objectives, we were able to empower consumers to be the main protagonists in the different activities coordinated throughout the year and thus create an impact that benefits the population with disabilities. Consumers managed to acquire advocacy skills and put them into practice, they participated in various advocacy activities before public and private identities where consumers were the protagonists. Systematic changes were achieved in favor of the community.consumers were served through alternative methods using technology, through the internet, cell phones, tablets and computers.different publications were carried out where people with disabilities promote the philosophy of independent living through their experiences on the internet, radio and television.the creation of independent living skills modules was achieved where several consumers with various disabilities qualify it as accessible.
