Pajaro Flood Recovery, March 2023, 250 participants. In the wake of the Pajaro flooding which saw 1600 residents out of their homes, COPA organized a public meeting with residents to plan next steps and recovery. Out of that meeting residents advocated for their emergency needs, and won a seat at the table for recovery
Organizing Trainings May-September 2023: COPA has a lot of new leaders who are just entering public life and community organizing. This is fantastic! But it means we need to do more teaching. Starting in late May we have done a series of training on organizing from house meetings to how to lead a meeting or how to have a conversation based on interests. This has been a 6 part series across two counties and engaged about 300 people
COPA 20th Anniversary Convention, May 2023, 450 participants. COPA celebrated our 20th Anniversary, and 20 years of successful organizing in the central coast. WE also began to plan our next twenty years of organizing with commitments from local business and community leaders who want to work with us
