Description
Education division currently offers dozens of specialized training opportunities online and in-person for continuing education credit through The Wildlife Society as well as academic credit through College of the Atlantic. During 2020, we offered our first 8 courses, trained 171 students and professionals in important scientific data analysis and convervation management fields. To promote wildlife conservation and education worldwide through research and specialized training.

Program areas at Center for Wildlife Studies

In 2022, the education division offered online, in-person, and hybrid courses for continuing education credit through the Wildlife society and our partner, the ecological society of america. We offered 32 courses, training 361 students and 159 professionals in applied quantitative ecology, geographic information science, conservation planning, and research, conservation, and management methods. Most participants (520) resided in north america (460) when they registered for the training, followed by asia (21), africa (13), europe (12), oceania (11), and south america (3). Fifteen of these participants received a full scholarship and 34 registered to take the course for academic credit at their home academic institution.
In 2022, cws science division continued previous work in Wildlife health, epidemiology, marine mammal conservation and global health. Cws received a usda grant to support conservation of endangered wood turtles in Maine.
