Program areas at CIFOR
In 2022, cifor continued to mark milestones for our solutions to five global challenges: bioversity loss, climate change, dysfunctional food systems, unsustainable supply chains, and inequity.our scientists brought the latest research findings and analysis on forests, trees and agroforestry to events like unccd cop15 in abidjan, cte d'ivoire, un climate conference (cop27) in sharm el-sheikh, egypt, to the un biodiversity summit (cop15) in montreal, canada. Our message was well received.
In 2022, cifor scientists based around the world produced a total of 364 publications, of which 87% are open access. The publications include 40 books, 18 briefs, 78 chapters, 36 occasional and working papers, 122 journal articles and 70 others. Our publications were downloaded nearly 5.3 million times and with over 45,000 citations.the global landscapes forum (glf) brought together thousands of people worldwide with events tackling the most pressing issues surrounding restoration, agri-food systems, the climate emergency and biodiversity finance. Glf has connected 9.5k organizations, 60k youth, 1.7 billion people, and 100 governments.
In 2022, research support units supported cifor's research programmes by providing state-of-the-art technical services, library facilities, computer services, systems development, and electronic communications.
