Program areas at Center for International Experiential Learning
Ciel continued its educational webinar series, focused primarily on current events unfolding in conflict and post-conflict regions, spotlighting critical, local and on the ground perspectives. The aim of these webinars is to offer our audience background and context from a local perspective and importantly, to offer avenues for individuals to learn, support and engage with these issues directly. Each webinar in 2022 was attended by 30-70 people.
Ciel provides consulting services to other organizations interested in Learning about other communities and facilitates travel opportunities for those organizations.
Ciel's unique holistic Learning model combines extensive interdisciplinary pre-travel scholarly education with on-the-ground Experiential Learning in conflict-affected regions guided by internationally recognized scholars and local experts. By engaging participants directly in cross-cultural exchange, daily critical reflection, and the lived experience of holding difficult conversation across divides, participants are empowered with the knowledge and skills needed. In 2022, ciel conducted trips for three student delegations and two community groups to northern ireland and the middle east.
