Description
Center for Asian American Media presents stories that convey the richness and diversity of Asian American experiences to the broadest audience possible. The Center funds, produces, distributes, and exhibits films, television, LIVE PERFORMANCES, and digital media to achieve its mission. CAAM selects timely projects produced by Asian American filmmakers that represent issues of national and global importance through Open Call funding. In May 2021, CAAM presented its 39th San Francisco CAAMFest Film Festival virtually and featured numerous panels for over 10,000 audiences.

Program areas at Center for Asian American Media

CAAM selected 34 projects that were funded through our Open Call for production funding. The selected films are timely and represent issues of national and global importance by Asian American filmmakers. CAAM also continued to support the growth of Asian American filmmaker talent through fellowship and mentorship activities.
In May, 2022, CAAM presented its 40th San Francisco CAAMFest Film Festival. This year's virtual festival presented Asian American films, documentaries and narratives, features, to a total audience of over 8,000. The festival also featured numerous panels, workshops, and other programming.
CAAM presented more than 45 hours of public media broadcast programs to a cumulative audience of over 10 million viewers. This high quality Asian American programing garnered numerous awards.
