Program areas at CCS Early Learning
CCS operates two primary programs - head start (ages 3-5) and Early head start (prenatal - age 3). Both of these programs are provided to vulnerable children/families (low income, homeless, foster care, disabilities). Our programs and services this year were significantly impacted by covid19 closures beginning in march of 2020. Stats from the 2019/2020 school year: low income children - 264 of 425 = 62%. Children in foster care (included in low income) - 73 of 425 = 17%. Children whose families are experiencing homelessness (included in low income) - 73 of 425 = 17%. Children who had a diagnosed disability - 31 of 425 = 7% of these children with disabilities; the number whose disability was determined: while they were enrolled - 13 of 425 = 3%. At enrollment - 36 of 425 = 8%. At year end - 146 of 425 = 34%. Number/percentage of services provided to families (total of 413 families served): parenting education - 409/99% asset building services (financial education, opening savings accounts, etc) 221/54%. Emergency/crisis intervention (meeting immediate needs for food, clothing, shelter) - 91/22%. Mental health services - 19/5%.
