Program areas at CCS Early Learning
CCS operates two primary programs - head start (ages 3-5) and Early head start (prenatal - age 3). Financially, these programs are considered one. These programs are provided to vulnerable children/families. Stats from the 2018/2019 school year: low income children - 279 of 451 = 62%. Children in foster care (included in low income) - 69 of 451 = 15%. Children whose families are experiencing homelessness (included in low income) - 72 of 451 = 16%. Children who had a diagnosed disability - 42 or 451 = 9% of these children with disabilities; the number whose disability was determined while they were enrolled - 15 of 451 = 3%. The number/percentage of head start children up to date on a schedule of age appropriate preventative and primary health care (well child checks): at enrollment - 47 of 451 = 10% at year end - 227 of 451 = 50% number/percentage of services provided to families (total of 423 families served): parenting education - 417/99% asset building services (financial education, opening savings accounts, etc) 219/52%. Emergency/crisis intervention (meeting immediate needs for food, clothing, shelter) - 181/43%. Mental health services - 40/9%.
