Consumer Credit Counseling of the Heartland is a nonprofit agency serving Missouri and Kansas. The Organization helped 897 clients pay off $3,414,171 in debt through its Debt Management Program. Every counseling session contained budget education, an action plan, goals, and options to eliminate their debt. As a HUD Housing Agency, the Organization provided 131 pre-foreclosure counseling sessions to client at risk of losing their homes. The Organization assisted 10 with a Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) by providing the HUD required education which allows those clients to remain in their homes. The Organization provided 202 of pre-filing bankruptcy counseling session to those filing bankruptcy and provided required Department of Justice pre-discharge education sessions to 137 clients. There were 93 financial workshops completed, reaching 788 attendees. In all, the Organization served 1,492 unique households with counseling services and education.
