Program areas at Catholic Charities Disaster Relief Catholic Charities Disaster Preparedness
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Disaster Response works to identify vulnerable populations and clients in need to provide resources, volunteers and Disaster Case Management following disasters. In addition to the recovery period, additional work is done with the community to assist in preparation for future disasters. Training is provided for Disaster Case Management, volunteer management, donations management, and disaster preparedness. From 7/1/21- 6/30/22, Disaster Response served 621 households and 1103 un-duplicated individuals. 156 homes were repaired or rebuilt. In addition, 99 training courses were conducted. 597 volunteers were directly supervised totaling 30,487 volunteer hours.
