Cathedral Montessori School

Cathedral Montessori School opened in the summer of 2010 to provide the new orleans lakefront neighborhoods with a progressive and challenging Montessori pre-school program. Enrolling 38 students in its inagural academic year, the School became accredited in its first months of operation through its uncompromising fidelity to maria Montessori's philosophy, curriculum and pedagogical tools. With a faculty of college-educated, montessori-accredited teachers, the School places an emphasis on diversity, through its relationship to the holy trinity greek orthodox Cathedral, and its cultivation of a culturally, socio-economically, and ethically diverse classroom. With resource faculty and programs, the School builds upon its Montessori foundation to develop a curriculum with a focus on music, art, movement, ecology and environmental science and foreign language. Cathedral Montessori School fosters a community of curiosity, respect and engagement in the world around it.
