Carbondale Convention and Tourism Bureau

Carbondale Tourism assisted in the economic growth of Carbondale, Illinois by increasing visits from tourists and business travelers, generating overnight lodging, food and beverage revenues, and increasing shopping revenues. Carbondale Tourism was the only Tourism marketing organization in Carbondale and was directly responsible for marketing the city of Carbondale to visitors. In addition to producing and distributing multiple brochures and guides highlighting carbondales amenities, we worked with other local organizations and Tourism partners to assist in their endeavors towards the marketing of the area. Carbondale Tourism planed and executed community events and festivals, while also working towards bringing new opportunities to the area. We produced a yearly visitors guide, outdoor guide, city and campus map, and other event specific publications. Staff focus throughout the year was distributing the guides to potential travelers and visitors through direct mail requests, lead generating publications, leisure travel shows, southern Illinois university events, and Tourism information centers. Additionally, staff focused on social media accounts as a form of marketing.
