Program areas at Can Do Kids International
WATER SYSTEMS KENYA CDK finished the construction/repair of 15 sustainable school/community water systems in Kenya that will provide direct access to clean water for 21,508 students and community members in addition to school staff and thousands more community members in walking distance. The expected lifespan of each is 20-25 years. CDK also began construction of 2 more systems serving 3,200 people that were completed the following fiscal year.
INTERNATIONAL IMPACT TEAMS CDK sent 4 teams of 41 Americans to Kenya and Ukraine to assist nationals with childrens Bible ministry, community outreaches, ministry in schools and with students including vocational training at Tech schools. CDK teams also helped with water systems and humanitarian relief.
HUMANITARIAN AID UKRAINE KENYA Following the start of the Russian war, CDK assisted a large nation-wide network of Ukrainian churches and Christian ministries to evacuate children and their families from war zones, provide food, shelter, clothing, supplies for refugees inside Ukraine and in other parts of Europe, and provide camp ministries for kids directly impacted by the war. In addition, in Kenya, as in previous years, CDK assisted 197 schools with feeding programs during national exams which feed 9,800 students. CDK sponsored 122 orphans and/or at risk students. We partnered with local communities to construct 3 houses for children living in extreme poverty and provided basic necessities for 28 impoverished families 224 people and 3 orphanages about 200 kids.
