Program areas at CHPC
The Partnership provided technical assistance to30 of our 92public and private nonprofit organizationpartnerson the construction and financing of4,574affordableand sustainable homes throughout California in 2022. We also trained nearly3,000affordable housing professionals across California in 2022through expansion ofour online and in-person trainingprograms.
The sustainable housing team implemented four major clean energy incentive programs, provided technical support to nonprofit housing providers to help them and the low-income residents they serve access clean energy funding resources, and advocated for increased funding to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in affordable housing throughout California.
The Partnership's policy and research program provided technical assistance, training, and education related to the preservation and production of affordable housing in California. In 2022, these efforts included expanding our preservation efforts by examining naturally occurring affordable housing (NOAH) in California and the potential risks factors related to NOAH properties losing their affordability for low-income Californians. We continued to expanded use and outreach for our online research tools by updating the tools and providing trainings/webinars for various partner organizations. Lastly, we piloted a new university-level fellowship program geared towards improving access and mentoring opportunities for racial/ethnic minorities in the affordable housing policy and research field.
