PUBLIC POLICY DEVELOPMENT - WORK CLOSELY WITH OUR PUBLIC POLICY COMMITTEE AND THE MEMBERSHIP, AS WELL AS STATE AGENCIES, OTHER ADVOCACY GROUPS, PLUS ELECTED OFFICIALS TO IDENTIFY POLICIES and ISSUES THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED AND THE ACTIONS NEEDED TO CONTRIBUTE TO ADVANCING STATE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES.
Cbha holds 2 to 3 policy meetings for executives and senior managers each year, providing excellent opportunities for learning about current state and federal level policy issues and exchanging ideas and networking with colleagues. Policy forums are designed to inform attendees and facilitate discussions about state and national-level healthcare and behavioral Health system changes being contemplated or in the pipeline. These policy forums are an opportunity to hear from national and state thought leaders and to participate in discussions about the potential and/or known impacts on our members' operations and their clients as well as learn about service delivery system changes and advise on future policy direction. Cbha also holds conferences and other educational webinars and meetings, open to members and the public, to share information about best practices, offer new learning opportunities and to encourage networking and collaborative approaches in working together to address the behavioral Health needs of all californians.
