Program areas at Burke Brown Steppe Chapter of the Afro-American Historical and
Genealogy Help Sessions were performed monthly at for the community at zero costs. We assisted 17 people with genealogical research of their family tree using Ancestry and FamilySearch.org Software
A theatrical performance was put on for the public. Using volunteered thespians. A play was written by a group member This was a fundraiser activity for us. A member used a no interest personal loan of $4000 for start up costs. The fundraising activity $3937.69 to perform, Tickets were sold at 15$ per person with a return of $4902, Minus the $4000 loan, our net profit was The play pays tribute to local African American Educators from past to present, by introducing them as living characters, who interact with a struggling from the 21St COM
Member Matter preserving heirlooms. At zero cost a half day conference was held for the public to showcase ways to preserve family heirlooms and oral histories. This educational summut was visited by 300 people. Visitors were given handouts and assist them in tracing their family trees.
