Program areas at BCHG

Community food pantries bchg operates two community food pantries located in penndel and doylestown. Low/moderate income community members from throughout Bucks County benefit by patronizing one of the pantries on a weekly basis to supplement their food supplies.
Home stabilization program - case management, tenant-based rental assistance and general supportive services are provided for families who are residing in the community but need assistance in remaining self- sufficient. Housing first program the Housing first program is a scattered site Housing program funded through st. mary's hospital. The goal is to provide short-term rental assistance and case management services to move people quickly out of homelessness/housing instability and into a position for them to be self- sufficient and remain housed.
Affordable Housing - bchg owns 74 units of affordable Housing throughout the County, with a concentration in bristol and morrisville, pa. These apartments are occupied by persons qualifying financially as low/low- moderate income households. Supportive Housing program our supportive Housing program (shp) is a transitional shelter program where we seek to empower individuals through comprehensive services such as education, job development, life skills, money management and appropriate referrals. Shp consists of 22 fully furnished units scattered throughout the Bucks County area.
Comprehensive Housing counseling - no cost, non-partisan hud-certified counseling for first-time homebuyers in Bucks County who meet the financial eligibility criteria for this program. All clients are directed to attend a free orientation webinar where they learn about the agency, our funding sources, what to expect from Housing counseling,what to bring to their Housing counseling appointment, the steps in the purchase process, the importance of a home inspection, 10 questions to ask a home inspector whom they are considering hiring, and the criteria for participation in the Bucks County first time homebuyer program. Expenses 232,044. Including grants of 0. Revenue 0. Bridge Housing - provide longer term, interim term for families leaving the shelter program. Both bridge Housing and home transitional Housing programs provide subsidized rental assistance and social services to homeless families who include at least one child under the age of 18. Both programs provide Housing in scattered site rental properties. Expenses 151,352. Including grants of 0. Revenue 0. Permanent supportive Housing services - supportive Housing and case management for families whose concerns/status requires greater intensity case management for a longer term (up to four years). The family permanent supportive Housing program is a Housing program funded through st. mary's hospital. The fpsh is a scattered site model supportive several families with case management and rental assistance. Expenses 31,872. Including grants of 0. Revenue 0. Veterans assistance - provides financial aid and assistance in accessing resources to homeless and needy veterans in Bucks County. Bucks County Housing Group's (bchg) Bucks County veterans Housing assistance program provides one-time grants of up to 500 to any active duty or honorably discharged serviceperson who is a resident of Bucks County and who is experiencing a Housing crisis. Recipients are referred by social service agencies, houses of worship, veterans organization, etc. And may receive one grant, one time. Preference is given to acute Housing needs. Expenses 3,000.
