Program areas at Broward House
Housing: the basic need of shelter is vital for all individuals. We are prepared with different levels of housing based on the need of the individual. We create a home for individuals in a licensed assisted living facility, transitional housing, Broward House owned apartments and scattered apartments throughout the county. Our staff work to ensure all clients are safe and able to maintain maximum independence.
Case management:broward House recognizes the challenge of navigating the system of health care and social services. We have case managers with different skills sets to best meet the needs of the clients. Services include community based case management, as well intensive strength based case management supporting access thorough accompanying individuals to appointments.
Behavioral health:prevention and intervention: Broward county (fort lauderdale) currently ranks number two in the nation, logging the 2nd highest number of new aids cases per capita in the united states. Florida ranks 3rd in the nation in the number of persons living with aids. We are working to change these facts through education, awareness, creative intervention and testing. Substance abuse and treatment: an intensive day treatment program is provided to hiv+ adults who have had previous treatment experience or relapse episodes. Clients live in the residential campus of Broward House during treatment. A day treatment program available to hiv+ individuals who have stable living arrangements and support in the community. Individuals with co-occurring mental health needs are welcomed in this program. Mental health: individuals who desire outpatient counseling for mental health or substance abuse challenges. Interventions may be individual counseling, group supports, or educational groups.
