Program areas at BCHS
Mental health Housing - operates an 18 bed transitional Community residence that offers mental health counseling, medication management, daily living skills training, substance abuse Services, health Services, recreational activities, and the development of socialization and self-advocacy skills for single adults with a serious and persistent mental illness.
Family Services - offers secure Housing for 44 mothers, each with one child up to the age of eight, and provides assistance that includes case management, on-site child care and nursing, vocational training, counseling, and job placement.
Supportive Housing - provides single room Housing for men and women who have been homeless or are at high risk of homelessness, the majority of which have a chronic mental illness, and offers case management, vocational training, recreation, socializtion, mental health care, on-site nursing, and substance abuse counseling. During fy22, 94% of all supporing Housing residents successfully maintained their Housing with bchs or moved on to other independent living in the Community. The Brooklyn Housing assistance center prevented evictions for 100% of the at-risk individuals it worked with; the arbor in program placed 100% of the Housing ready homeless families who were admitted into permanent and at-risk children, women and men wre served, and 412 individuals were housed in bchs programs on a daily basis.
