Program areas at Brigid's Path
Infant care program: Brigid's Path is a newborn recovery center for babies impacted by substance exposure. In our homelike setting, we provide one-on-one, compassionate medical care and respond immediately to a baby's needs as he/she goes through withdrawal from prenatal substance exposure. A team of knowledgeable and talented neonatologists, nurses, patient care assistants, and trained volunteers use specialized techniques such as small and frequent feedings, constant touch or rocking, and low stimulation environments to help our babies be as comfortable as possible and have a better start to life. Brigid's Path provided care to 55 infants in 2023.
Bp community:building on the success of our newborn recovery center and family advocacy programs, Brigid's Path is actively working to create the next phase of ongoing support for our families. The Brigid's Path community will provide opportunities for personal, spiritual, and professional growth, as well as family skills development. The bp community will include: Brigid's Path transformational homes with safe and supportive environments for babies and their moms; the Brigid's Path cafe, a welcoming space for connection, hospitality, job experience, and community engagement; the Brigid's Path gathering room, facilitating gatherings, celebrations, and moments of spiritual reflection; the Brigid's Path shop, offering products that inspire healing and growth; and the Brigid's Path early learning center, providing a nurturing and enriching educational experience for children born substance-exposed.
Family advocacy program:brigid's Path is a safe place for families, including pregnant or newly postpartum moms. Our family advocates coach our families based on their identified strengths and connect them with the community resources they need to move forward (e.g., housing, treatment, identification services, transportation, etc.). Each parent or caregiver works with us to create an individualized plan and accomplish goals to help their families thrive. Every woman can be a great mother, and we want to help each mom who passes through our doors to feel safe, hopeful, and prepared for the future. We are building stronger communities by building stronger families. 91 families were served in 2023.
