The Corporation's purposes include but are not limited to programs and activities designed to encourage self reliance and self sufficiency of residents of properties owned or operated by Vancouver Housing Authority or its affiliates, acquisition of real property, development, construction, preservation and operations, either by means of joint ventures or acting alone, of decent, safe and affordable housing for low and moderate-income persons or families and participation in federal, state, and local affordable housing programs, including, but not limited to Title VI of the 1990 Cranston-Gonazales National Affordable Housing Act, as amended (also known as the Low-Income Housing Preservation and Resident Homeownership Act or LIHPRHA) and the federal low income housing tax credit program under Section 42 of the Code.
