Schedule othe Bridgeport Hospital Foundation received more than $5.8 million in philanthropic gifts in fy 2022. Highlights included: the norma pfriem breast center hosted its 21st annual rose of hope event in september to honor its most loyal and generous sponsors. The event raised more than $430,000 after expenses to support programs for underserved women. Also in october, the breast center's "pink pledge" initiative continued to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer in Bridgeport, stratford, trumbull and milford. Donors contributed more than $207,000 (a record) including many local businesses that gave a portion of their monthly sales to this great cause. The kaulbach memorial golf classic returned in september to celebrate its 40th anniversary. More than 100 golfers and sponsors contributed more than $125,000 to support oncology nurse navigators and social workers, as well as an oncology chaplaincy program. Bridgeport Hospital's milford campus hosted a 5k walk/run on mother's day, resuming a popular tradition after a two-year covid hiatus. More than 300 participated to raise funds for the milford campus 3 east project, which will create a state-of-the-art nursing unit focusing on the care of patients after orthopedic surgery.the Foundation launched "bringing technology to life," a capital campaign to help bring lifesaving equipment and improved clinical outcomes for stroke and cardiac patients. The Foundation is supporting the Hospital's $25 million investment with a $4.5 million fundraising effort. ($4.5 million is the cost of the new technology.) By the end of fy22, donors had contributed $1.7 million, more than 35% of the campaign goal.the Foundation has once again achieved a platinum seal of transparency from candid (formerly guidestar). Candid gathers, organizes, and distributes information about more than 2.7 million u.s. nonprofits. Last year, there were more than 10.8 million unique visitors to guidestar's website as people sought trustworthy information to make decisions about nonprofits and the work they do. The Foundation has advanced beyond the bronze, silver and gold awards by adding in-depth financial information and quantitative metrics about our community health initiatives, as an example of how our donors are impacting the patients served by Bridgeport Hospital.
