Bremerton Backpack Brigade

Approximately $1,000 a week is spent on fresh foods to augment non perishable food and food is donated by the public. This year we expanded our fresh vegetables to include individual bags for each child in the family alternating with large bags of heads of lettuce, onions, potatoes, tomatoes enough to prepare fresher meals for the families. The Brigade sends out 250 backpacks of food weekly to feed 590 people and 220 families.
