Program areas at Today's Harbor for Children
Through its programs, the Harbor strives to help Children learn to overcome self-destructive patterns, break cycles of abuse, develop social skills, learn responsibility, and work towards becoming healthy, happy, and productive members of society. Today's Harbor for Children provides a home and promotes the welfare for neglected and homeless Children between the ages of five and eighteen. Today's Harbor for Children ceased active operations on 11/10/2022 and in this fiscal year, transferred more than 25% of its assets to depelchin Children's center (another non profit) to better serve the needs of Children in the houston, harris county area. Today's Harbor continues to operate and monitor depelchin's use of the assets that it transferred to depelchin. Depelchin has until november 2027 to successfully continue the Harbor's mission of helping Children. During this time, depelchin provides annual budgets and progress statements for its use of the Harbor's property in morgan's point, Texas to meet the Harbor's goals of promoting the welfare for neglected and homeless Children between the ages of five and eighteen. At the end of this period, should the board of Today's Harbor determine that depelchin has not successfully used the morgan's point property for the promotion of Children in need, depelchin must return eighty percent of the value of the real and personal assets and all the money the Today's Harbor transferred to depelchin for operating a Children's center in morgan's point, Texas.
