Program areas at Botanical Bus
We met our Latinx and Indigenous clients where they are - at vineyard worksites and trusted family service centers - to provide bilingual, bicultural health services, including massage, acupuncture, somatic therapy, foot care, diabetes prevention and care, clinical nutrition and herbalism. Our programs, led by Promotora Community Health Workers, include Farmworkers Clinics and Wellness Workshops.
In 2022 we accomplished the following: *Organized 29 Farmworker clinics to provide 528 clients with 1,584 direct health services. *Led 81 wellness workshops -- 58 embedded in clinics and 23 in partnership with community organizations -- to reach an additional 422 clients. *Distributed 528 mutual-aid herbal care kits. *Provided land shares and 51 hours of paid training in mental health support and technology to eight Promotora Community Health Workers. *Launched a clinical apprentice program to provide 174 hours of paid training in clinical herbalism to four BIPOC apprentices.
