Program areas at Boise Rock School
Our main activities are an after-school programming whereby students attend weekly music education classes including band classes, production and recording, songwriting, and instrument specific classes. Outreach programming whereby we bring valuable music education to a variety of rural and urban settings, including public and charter schools, private schools, refugee centers, youth centers, hospitals, juvenile corrections facilities and other locations. A critical part of our education programming includes performance. Our students are given the opportunity to perform regular gigs for their friends, family, and the general public. As an example, every 12 weeks we have a Session Gig that features 50 youth bands playing throughout the day.
