The Community Building Children's Center provides high quality full day child care for 9 FTE toddlers and 20 FTE preschoolers. Participating families include parents who work on site at other non-profit agencies. The child care also serves as an operating model child care center for the training institute.
Blue Prints for Learning is engaged in developing partnerships within the childcare community in Spokane in order to promote and support the expansion of high-quality childcare. This work includes participating in a Cost of Care study led by the Department of Children Youth and Families and a Commuity Partnership grant with the Washington Department of Commerce. The desired outcome of this work is to find community partners to invest in and develop sustainable high-quality childcare programs in Spokane.
The Urban Adventure Camp, a Summer program for children ages K-3, gets children out of the classroom daily for real-world, nature-based experiences. Children are provided opportunities to draw on these experiences in the classroom, exploring their creativity through painting, sculpting, drawing, constructing, music, poetry, movement, and drama.
