Program areas at Bill's Kitchen
Bill's Kitchen is a community-based organization with a mission to improve the quality of life for people diagnosed HIV positive. We have worked tirelessly over the past 31 years to ensure that our partici- pants receive nutritional support, multiple clinical services and support services to meet the needs of this population, who are now mostly vulnerable older adults. We offer services from two permanent facilities located in San Juan and Fajardo, as well as satelite faci- lites in Humacao and Bayamon. Today we have three main programs from which we offer multiple services, which we described below. Programa Integrate focuses on offering support services to improve the health and quality of life of participants beyond the nutritional needs. Among the srvices included are: Home Health Aide, Oral Health, Provision of Durable and DIsposable Medical Eqipment, Eyesglasses, Nutritional Supplements, Emergency Aid to pay for utilities and rental Assistance, Transportation to Medical Appointments, Medical Specialist, Hearing Aids, Testing and Labs amount others. Currently we offer services for the regins of San Juan covering the municipalities of Guaynabo, San Juan, Canovanas, Loiza, Carolina and Trujillo Alto. On the other hand, in Fajardo we cover the Municipali- ties of Ceiba, Culebra, Fajardo, Luquillo, Rio Grande and Vieques.
vegetables and other non-perishable foods. In addition, this programme provides non-clinical case management services, emotional support offered by psychology professionals and food delivery at home. This program has a wide coverage that extendes to 30 municipalities in the San Juan Metropolitan Area. The main objective is to ensure that no HIV patient is left without access to food. Achievement in 2023: In the last year 13666 bags of food were delivered, including: eggs, cereal, milk, peanut butter, coffee, rise, pasta, cheese, ham, bread, fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen fruits and vegetables, frozen meals, etc. DUring 2023 this programme served 879 unduplicated clients.
Achivements in 2023, we served a total of 1063 participant. 6,438 services were completed (for the different categories on services mentioned above).
Programa Manos Amigas: This programme is designed to serve patients with the greatest need, focusing on participants over the age of 50 and
vulnerable in terms of physical and emotional health. We offer non-clinical case management services in the home, accompaniment to medical appointments
coordination to ensure access to other health care services, and delicated individual support. During the second year of this program, we served 224
unduplicated individuals who received case management, medical transporta- tion and home health care services.
