Program areas at Biennial of the Americas
the Biennial supports the exchange of art and ideas by bringing international and innovative speakers and artists to Denver through panels, events, and exhibitions, that elevate rising leaders and support our partners, we advance the connection between Colorado and the Americas and increase exposure to diverse cultures and experiences. the Biennial of the Americas presented edge effect, a free, temporary, public art installation by guadalajara-based artist gabriel rico featuring five totemic sculptures and an augmented reality (ar) experience at Denver's tail tracks plaza. the totemic sculptures are composed of diverse objects donated by the Denver community that the artist reconfigured and layered with a custom, interactive ar component.
the youth congress for sustainable Americas connects young sustainability leaders from across the Americas to further sustainable initiatives. It is a robust network of young environmental leaders from 15 different countries. the delegates meet annually for leadership development, collaboration opportunities and to highlight their sustainability projects at the individual community level. A pilot project fund directly support the members of our youth congress with funding for community-based sustainability projects. Annually we host a sustainable Americas summit, where over three days of programming we host speakers from across the Americas with participants from over 25 different countries.
the Americas summits are an opportunity to take a deeper dive into international exchange. Our delegations of local leaders visit other cities across the Americas to support business development and cultural understanding. the Americas summits are curated experiences offering delegates a chance to meet with top leaders, major multinational corporations, artists and entrepreneurs.
