Program areas at Berkshire County Kids' Place and Violence Prevention Center

Voca: works collaboratively with existing agencies and schoool administrations to plan the most effective response in the event of a critical incident, coordinates post traumatic stress management training for school and community based professionals throughout Berkshire County, and responds and assits in the recovery process following a critcal incident.
Child witness program: provides advocacy and counseling services to battered women and their children who have witnessed domestic Violence and increases awareness of the effects of domestic Violence on children. The program is a joint collaborative between Berkshire County Kids' Place, the elizabeth freeman Center, and mental health and substance abuse services of the berkshires.
Sexual assult intervention coordinates child sexual and physical abuse investigations with state and local police, the department of social services, and the district attorneys office, ensures medical and mental health care for victims, tracks each and every child through prosecution and beyond, compiles statistical analysis of child abuse cases. Safe berkshires program provides advocacy and counseling services to abused women and their children and increases awareness of the effects of domestic Violence on children.
