Program areas at BAYCAT

In 2023, BAYCATs Digital Media Pathways Program delivered hands-on digital media training to a total of 205 aspiring creatives, including young storytellers (ages 11-17), Studio interns (ages 18-25), and alumni. Our pre-vocational and vocational film and digital arts programs were delivered in-person at BAYCATs Dogpatch headquarters. We offered a flexible combination of virtual and in-person programming for young adult interns so that they could maintain school or jobs outside of the internship. During the summer of 2023, we brought back our annual event, InFocus, a professional mixer that creates space for emerging BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and women storytellers to network and create meaningful connections with recruiters and other industry professionals. Presented at the Chase Center Skybar in partnership with industry giants Walt Disney Studios, Pixar, Industrial Light & Magic, ILMxLab, Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, and Walt Disney Animation, InFocus proved to be a huge success, with 231 attendees in attendance. We also held an Alumni Night, where BAYCAT graduates were provided with headshot and a resume building workshop. Our Studio produced 47 media deliverables for 9 community partners, including nonprofits, philanthropy, and local government agencies
