The center for dance education provides non-competitive instruction in classical and recreational divisions. Its mission is a collective effort to provide the highest quality dance education in a welcoming atmosphere.

Ballet Spartanburg enriches, educates and inspires lives through presenting the highest of quality Ballet productions. These productions include dancers from Ballet Spartanburg's professional company, dancers from the center for dance education and guest artists.
It is our mission to continue educating and inspiring students and adults in Spartanburg and surrounding areas. Ballet Spartanburg's education and community outreach performs in over 28 outreach sites and impacts over 23,000 children and adults annually. Outreach programs include: lecture/demonstrations for schools; Ballet Spartanburg city dance, a summer and after school program, teaches dance for at-risk, inner city youth: school residencies; in and after school dance performances in partnership with the chapman cultural center's muse machine program; performances in nursing homes, hospitals and retirement centers; performances at community events, festivals and public events; free performances of peter and the wolf for all 5k-4th graders in Spartanburg co. schools; scholarship programs; dance
The center for dance education is an instructional center committed to providing the highest quality dance education in a non-competitive atmosphere. Two areas of dance are classical and recreational divisions. The mission of the cfde is a collective effort to create a pleasant and supportive atmosphere for artistic excellence through dance education to thrive. The center instructs approximately 350 students from Spartanburg and surrounding counties offering approximately 37 different dance classes for ages two to adult in : Ballet, ballroom, boys only classes, contemporary, creative, hip hop, irish step, lyrical, modern musical theatre, tap and jazz, hip hop/street dance and tap and twirl.
