BIDA produces seasonal annual events such as our 3rd of July Street Dance Hometown Halloween Trick-or-Treat Downtown The Downtown Tree Lighting Holiday Open House with Santa Photos Holiday Programs. We also produce a robust monthly Art Walk on the First Fridays. These events promote downtown as the community's gathering place, encourage a positive image for downtown, and promote business-generating activities, supporting the downtown as a service and retail center. The events fit within our mission of Building community through a vibrant downtown by promoting downtown as the heart of Bainbridge Island - a special place to live, work, shop, invest, and play.

We partner with local organizations to host frequent familiarization programs and provide various support services to the downtown community. We strive to maintain solid relationships with the City of Bainbridge Island, the City Council, and the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce to initiate and develop progrmas to enhance the economy of the island.
For the past 16 years, BIDA has published and distributed the Bainbridge Island Downtown Walkabout Guide. In 2021, 100,000 guides were produced and distributed to 270 visitor locations in the Pacific Northwest with an emphasis on Seattle hotels, Washington & Oregon State Visitor Centers, cruise and ferry terminals, and local businesses. The walkabout guide supports a vibrant downtown by encouraging visitor traffic throughout our downtown and fosters business referrals.
